SETTING A NEW STANDARD IN GRASS PITCHES
Rhenac Sports LED has pioneered technical solutions to supplement light, irrigation, liquid fertilizers and heat to stadium fields. The technology can be fitted to beams that appear from underneath the stands and that span the entire field, or can be fitted in the ceiling of a bunker to where the grass is moved when the venue is used for a non-sports event. 

All technology operates based on the data gathered by an analysing unit that measures the pitch. In doing so, it minimises the input in terms of labour, energy, water or fertilizers, and maximises the output of the various technologies.

R-BL 1750

The R-BL 1750 is a fully automated and integrated grass grow system. The Veltins Arena in Germany had LED grass grow lighting, sprinkling technology, fertilizing technology, disease blocking, infra-red light and data gathering technology included. The technology is fitted on two beams that span the entire width of the field without touching the surface.

Smartly operated

The technology is directed by data from a data lake that is fed by the Rhenac field analyser, moisture or temperature sensors, smart cameras, digital databases with historical data, and weather stations, to name a few.

By establishing an Internet of Things environment, output of the various technologies is maximised, with minimum input.

The R-BL 1750 can operate independently without much need for involvement of the groundsman. This reduces labour costs and increases the efficiency of the skilled groundsmen.

R-ML 200

The Rhenac R-ML 200 solution consists of six interconnected Rhenac Sports LED grass grow units. Together, they have a total span that covers half a field. Each unit is controlled individually, allowing the LED field lighting unit to deliver the light and light intensity precisely according to the needs of a particular part of the field.

Perfect support

The R-ML 200 stadium LED technology supplements the necessary light at times of the year when natural light is limited. It is also an enabler in venues where spectator comfort or capacity has superseded the stadium design over facilitating natural grass growth or recuperation.

R-ML 100

The Rhenac R-ML 100 provides groundsmen with the flexibility to supplement light in areas that require additional attention. It consists of multiple individual carriers. The modular system allows customised configuration of individual mobile light carriers. The grow lights can be interconnected to facilitate multiple units operating in tandem.

Operating principle

The LED luminaires on this mobile LED field lighting system are capable of delivering the Complete Light Spectrum (CLS), including infrared and ultraviolet light. This makes the Rhenac Sports LED unique and ensures the grass will always receive the required type of light and light intensity.

All year round

Each light carrier comes with an infrared heating unit. Combined with the underground pitch heating, this creates an optimal pitch temperature, which allows grass growth, even in winter. Both functions – illumination and infrared heating – are operated as additive systems. Environmental conditions like natural light intensity and spectra, as well as temperature, are measured at the turf level. If requested, an irrigation system can be integrated with these grow lights.

Full light spectrum

The Rhenac Sports LED grow lights can cover the full light spectrum. The luminaires can be set to deliver the red colour that is needed for germination of grass seeds or a blue colour to improve pitch density. Rather than just illuminating the pitch, we are able to give the plant what it needs, with pinpoint accuracy onto the sections of the field where additional grass care is needed.

The easy to handle and light to manoeuvre R-ML 30 stadium LED unit has been designed to help areas that experience heavy traffic recover quickly. Goal mouths and penalty areas are good examples.
